The New Brunswick Pharmacy Act, 2014 and its Regulations are the basis for governing the practice of pharmacy in New Brunswick. It is the duty of the New Brunswick College of Pharmacists to uphold and protect the public interest in the practice of pharmacy.

New Brunswick Pharmacy Manager Training
The pharmacist named on the Certificate of Operation is referred to as the Pharmacy Manager. This pharmacist takes on significant responsibility for the pharmacy, the pharmacy team and the delivery of patient care.
Effective July 1, 2025 it becomes the new mandatory standard requirement for all pharmacy managers to complete the NB Pharmacy Manager Training Program (the Program) and to update their online profile with the College upon completion. This curated training supports pharmacists in meeting the requirements of the role and ultimately protects the safety of the public. Training also ensures the pharmacy team receives leadership consistent with Regulation, Standards of Practice and College guidance and expectations. Current pharmacy managers have up to November 30, 2025 to complete the Program. New pharmacy managers who take on the role after July 1, 2025 will have up to 90 days to complete the program from the date they are named on a Certificate of Operation. The Program is available on-demand, at no cost and can be followed in either English or French. Program contentThe NB Pharmacy Manager Training Program content is consistent with the Regulations (begin with Section 20, Responsibilities & Delegation) and the Canadian Council on Continuing Education in Pharmacy (CCCEP) Learning Outcomes for Pharmacy Managers. The Program is divided into five modules that can be accessed in any order but all five are mandatory to complete. The modules are:
