Black History Month

02/20/2026

This year marks 30 years that the Government of Canada has acknowledged February as Black History Month. Celebrating the culture and contributions of Black Canadians must continue throughout the year, however being intentional by dedicating a month and having ongoing discussions about inequities is critical to combatting systemic and structural racism.

There are resources on the College website such as this module from Queens University Dismantling Anti-Black Racism: A Toolkit for Health Professionals and the Public Health Agency of Canada’s Social determinants and inequities in health for Black Canadians: A Snapshot to support your learning. There is also a link to the Black Pharmacy Professionals of Canada (BPPC) organization which was created to address the unique challenges and needs of Black pharmacy professionals and patients. Their annual summit Cultivating Leaders and Elevating Excellence will feature the launch of the new BPPC mentorship program.

Please take some time to review these and other Equity Diversity and Inclusion resources on the College website
