Recognizing National Indigenous History Month and Pride Month

06/17/2025

June marks both National Indigenous History Month and Pride Month, two important opportunities to reflect, learn, and celebrate the diversity of the communities we serve.

National Indigenous History Month is a time to honour the rich history, heritage, resilience, and diversity of First Nations Peoples across Canada, including Wolastoqiyik (Maliseet), Mi’kmaq, and Passamaquoddy Peoples in New Brunswick. It also serves as a reminder of the ongoing need to address health inequities and support Indigenous patients in New Brunswick.

Pride Month is a celebration of 2SLGBTQI+ (Two-Spirit, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex) communities and a time to reflect on how to create a healthcare system that is fair, inclusive, and equitable for all patients.

The College is committed to sharing resources that support ongoing learning related to equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI), and that align with the professional obligations of pharmacy professionals. These efforts can help address health disparities and identify EDI-related barriers that may affect both patients and pharmacy team members.

Pharmacy professionals and students are encouraged to explore the online resources on the College website, which support learning related to both Indigenous health and 2SLGBTQI+ care.
