“What comes to mind when you think about healthcare harm? Let’s broaden our understanding together.”
This is the theme for Canadian Patient Safety Week (CPSW) which runs October 28 to November 1, 2024.
With a mandate to promote and protect the health and well-being of the public, the New Brunswick College of Pharmacists recognizes that reducing healthcare harm is critical to those receiving and those delivering patient care.
It is important to recognize that psychological, social, and spiritual harm can also occur in the process of delivering and receiving care. Minimizing the possibility of healthcare harm is essential to helping create safety for all.
We encourage patients, families, caregivers and pharmacy professionals to talk to each other about patient safety. Don’t know where to start? Check out some helpful tips from Healthcare Excellence Canada.
