The New Brunswick College of Pharmacists respectfully acknowledges that the land on which we live and work is the traditional unceded territory of the Wolastoqiyik (Maliseet), Mi’kmaq, and Passamaquoddy Peoples. The “Treaties of Peace and Friendship” which Wolastoqiyik (Maliseet), Mi’kmaq and Passamaquoddy Peoples first signed with the British crown in 1725 did not deal with surrender of lands and resources. The Treaties in fact recognized Wolastoqiyik (Maliseet), Mi’kmaq and Passamaquoddy title and established the rules for what was meant to be an ongoing relationship between nations. We recognize these Treaties and are grateful to the First Peoples of these nations with whom we share this land.
